We met up in London at some ungodly hour, went off to Waterloo to get the Eurostar and, a few hours later, got off the train in Paris. For many it was a first visit to Paris.

I'd been there a few months before, a rugby weekend when first Wasps got hammered and then so did the fans.

It was nice to get back to Paris to see all of the bits I was too tired and emotional to see a few months before

The Ecole Militaire, where Napoleon did, or didn't, attend. Hey, French history isn't my strong point. Ecole Militaire
The Eiffel Tower at night, and someone's head artistically placed in the bottom left hand corner. Eiffel tower at night
Looking up the Eiffel Tower at night. Ooooh. Aaaah. Up the Eiffel
Chateau Chambord. My first thought? "How long must it take to hoover this place?" Chateau Chambord
Hennessy distillery at Cognac. You had to get a ferry across the river to get to the place. Who else remembers the smell of the place? I reckon you could get fairly shedded just licking the walls. Hennessy
We spent the night in Bordeaux, roadworks capital of France. What a lovely hotel it was. Breakfast was "enjoyed" under the watchful eyes of two machine-gun turrets in case anyone ate more than the two rolls generously provided. I know I don't like a big breakfast but I would like the chance to decline food.
